Congratulations to the Summit County Student Short Story & Poetry Writing Contest Winners!
04/17/24
The winners of the Rotary Club of Summit County and Summit County Library's writing contest have been chosen! A panel of judges from the Rotary Club and library staff reviewed more than 80 submissions, and selected 12 podium-finishers across four categories.
Congratulations to Rowan Rockne, Wynter Steinweg, Connor Boots, Taylor Hovarth, Molly Engeland, Laurel Belby, Muslima Mirusmanova, Elliott Oberheide, Anna Mitchell, Randal Lemon, and Hannah Grace Campbell!
The stories and poems submitted by those young writers amazed the judges with their artistry, creativity, and writing ability. They stood out among a field of fantastic writers. We don’t have room to showcase all the honorable mentions, but from the chronicles of talking lawnmowers to poems on the mystique of an ocean, our judges want all writers to be proud of the works of art they made.
The top 3 winners in each contest (middle and high school) earned $300, $200, $100 prizes thanks to the Summit County Rotary. A published anthology of winning and meritorious entries will also be available for purchase.
