How to Use Your Library Account

How do I access 'My Account' on the library website?

To access your library card record, click on 'My Account' in the top right corner of this webpage. Enter your entire library card number starting with the 420 (no spaces) and your password. If you do not know your password, click Forget Password and check your email. If that doesn't work please contact a Summit County Library to have staff reset your password. Click 'Login.'

From within your account you may request items, renew items, and review your reading history.

How do I renew my library books?

To renew all items, log into 'My Account', click on 'Checked Out Titles' and the 'Renew All' button at the top. If you only wish to renew certain items, click the boxes preceding the items in the list, and click 'Renew Selected Items' at the top. If an item may not be renewed, it will say 'ON HOLD' in red next to the due date of the item. Renewal dates are from the date renewed, not the date material is due.

How do I track my reading history?

Click ‘Reading History’ on the left. Then click the blue ‘Start Recording my Reading History’ button. It will start recording from that time forward but will not include items you checked out in the past. Library staff cannot see what you have checked out in the past.

I lost or damaged a book. Can I see how much I owe?

We are a fine free library, but we you still be billed for lost or damaged items. Click ‘Fines and Messages’ on the left. This amount must be paid in person at a Summit County Library by cash, check or credit card. Credit card transactions will accure an additional service fee.

How do I request materials?

Use the ‘Search’ field at the top left to enter in the subject, title or author. From there you can narrow your results using the categories on the left. Pay attention to what type of material it is: Book, CD book, DVD, etc. Place a hold on any item inside or outside Summit County by clicking the blue 'Place Hold' to the right of an item listing.

Choose the Summit County Library location where you want to pick the item up and receive an e-mail, call or text when it arrives. Your home library will default to where your library card was issued. If you want to change your default home library, contact library staff.

How do I see what I have on hold?

Click ‘Titles on Hold’ on the left. This will show what is ready for pickup, where it is ready for pickup and any materials that are still pending.

Can I receive text messages to notify me when my holds arrive or my materials are due?

Yes! Contact a Summit County Library staff member to sign up for ShoutBomb text messages.

You will receive reminder texts when items you placed on hold arrive or when your checked out materials are coming due.

Text 'MyBooks' to see the status of all your library items.

Text 'Stop' if you no longer want to receive text message notifications.
